Documentation Required for Bike Rentals in Leh Ladakh

This is where you need to pay close attention because these documents can make or break your trip. Always remember to carry your driver's license in original as it will be verified before renting out the bike/scooter to you.

If you don't have a driving license or don't know how to drive, the dealer can rightfully refuse to rent out the bike to you. Along with your driver's license, you need to carry other ID proofs as well. Your ID proof will be deposited before renting out the bike to you and returned at the time of returning the bike. Don't be alarmed! This is standard practice in most places offering a rental vehicle.

Must carry any of the following documents:
 

PAN Card

Aadhar Card

Voter ID Card

Passport

All dealers provide third party insurance with the vehicle. Most insurance plans cover problems arising due to any fault in the engine and not any other problems. However, in case of theft of the bike, most dealers will ask the hirer to pay full market rate for the bike. Also, dealers don't take any responsibility for personal insurance of riders. So, that would be your own responsibility.

Any fines/penalties due to reckless driving or increasing the rider limit on two-wheelers (seating more than two people) will also be the responsibility of the travellers and not the dealer.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE KNOWN 

• Rider should have a valid driving licence.

• Fuel cost, Toll, road side assistance and Taxes is borne by the hiring party.

• Bike should be tested thoroughly by client before renting it & If once feels any problem with the bike, we shall be informed so that it can be fixed. 

• After the trials and checking the bikes personally if the bike still creates any mechanical problem on the very first day, then we will be there with our services or we will replace the bike. But after that if there is any major or minor problem with the bike then the client has to take care of it. You can call us anytime and we will try to help him out of it but then he will have to tackle it himself as by then the bike will be ‘his baby.

• Must have appropriate riding gear, i.e... Boots or closed toe shoes, pants & eyewear. No flip-flops, sandals or shorts.

• Lessee is responsible for his insurance; Lessor will not be responsible for any accidental expenses of Rider.

• The lessee shall use the bike entirely at his/her own risk and agrees that lessor will not accept any responsibility or be held accountable for any loss, injury or death as a result of, or leading from the hire of any of the vehicles.

• The bike shall be returned back to lessor in the same condition in which it was handed over to lessee.

• Once the client takes the delivery of the bike the bike becomes his child. It becomes the responsibility of the client to take care of it.

• Drive them and take care of them with respect. Mishandling the bikes and riding them roughly will spoil them and will also spoil your tour.

• If you realize that there is some problem in the bike get it checked as soon as possible. Timely service can prevent any major breakdown and will save major expenditure.

• Towing service will be borne by the customer in case of unlikely event of tire puncture or collision or breakdown due to improper usage. In the event of mechanical or technical failure, we will take care in towing the bike at our own cost. It will be a package deal. If, the client returns the bike earlier then the mentioned date then in that case the balance rental days amount is not refundable.

• In case the number of rental days are extended then the rider has to call us at least 2 days before. If, the bikes are not booked for any other tour then only he can keep the bikes for the extended days otherwise he has to return the bike timely. If, asked to return the bike on time, the rider does not return it then he will have to pay double of the original rentals per day.

• A valid photo ID and cash deposit of rupees 5000 is required as security deposit which will be refundable.

• Full rental amount should be paid at the time of taking the bike.

• Bike should be return before 8:00 pm.

• If you return the motorcycle before the stipulated time, then the rent will be charged for the same number of days as previously agreed upon. 

• In case of an uninformed extension to the travel dates, the hirer would be charge double the rental rate for the extra dates.

• Bike should be return before 8:00 pm.

• Extra charges of INR100 is applicable for pick and drop of vehicle to hotel / Guest house.

• Company is not responsible for the safety (injury/death) or any insurance claim of the person taking or his/her associate in case of any accident. Rider usefully responsible for such cases

Prohibited Uses

• The use of a Lessor’s vehicle under the following conditions is prohibited:

• Our motorcycles cannot be used for rallies and rally surcharges or any format of professional or amateur competitions and media usage.

• By any person who is under the influence of (i) alcohol or (ii) any drug or medication under the effects of which the operation of a vehicle is prohibited or not recommended.

• In carrying out of any crime or any other illegal activity.

Damage policy

None of us wants it to happen. But, before going on a bike tour, it is important to know what will happen in case the bike meets a crash.
 

• The Lessee agrees to pay for any damage to, loss of, or any theft (disappearance) of parts of bike, regardless of cause or fault. Item damaged beyond repair will be paid for at its Market Price.

• The representative shall check the bike and its parts in order to ascertain any damage to items. Damage shall be defined as follows:

• Any damage which existed prior to the handover of the Motorbike and was agreed between the lessee and lessor will not be chargeable to the Lessee.

• Tear in seat cover will result in charge towards replacement of seat cover. Opening up a stitched joint will not be chargeable.

• Any variation showing damages, if ascertained as not caused by normal wear and tear, would be charged and would have to be borne by the Lessee

• In case of an accident or collision, the rider members are accountable to pay a standard amount towards the accident insurance not exceeding Rs. 15,000(which may vary depending on the severity of the damage). The members are bound to pay for the repairs incurred due to damages caused by the collision/accident.

• Any charges exceeding Rs. 15,000 will be claimed from the insurance.

• In the event of a collision, either due to the fault of the rider himself or due to any other unavoidable instance, the costs involved in towing or confiscation of bikes are to be borne by the members alone

• Inactive hours during the repair period shall be charged to the rider member at 50% of the per day rental amount

Deposit

• The customer has to deposit refundable security deposit for certain bikes to take a ride with us. The refund usually takes 5-7 working days to reflect in the source account from the date of invoice.
